Sign-ups now being accepted for the GCACW 2008 PBEM tournament. This BPA sponsered event features scenarios not often played at the annual WBC face-to-face event.

Meanwhile, the 2007 Barbarossa to Berlin PBEM Tournament nears the end of Round 3.

What is a Wargame?

If you've stumbled here by accident, you are probably wondering what the picture above is all about and what a wargame is. First, a wargame is a simulation of a military conflict, usually based on a historical battle, campaign or war (for more information see Wikipedia, Webgronards, Consimworld, and the Boardgamers Players Association). My site focuses exclusively on boardgames as opposed to computer wargames or minatures gaming.

Oh, that picture is from a game called Stonewall's Last Battle depicting the Chancellorsville campaign during the American Civil War. In the picture, Stonewall Jackson is leading a flanking attack on the Union line just before he was mortally wounded by friendly fire.
